Marker at the Head of the Old Spanish Trail

The Old Spanish Trail was sompleted in the 1920s. It was a national highway that ran from St. Augustine, Florida, to San Disgo, California. It ran across the southern United States.

Pictured is the zero milestone in St Augustine. This was placed there by the Exchange Club in 1928. It is cut from coquina stone, which is made of cement and coquina shell. The stone was also used to build forts and other buildings.

The old fort, "Castillo ds San Marcos", of St Augustine is also a "must see".
